Take a lovely rural country walk and your trusty iPhone .. then slap in a bit of PS play on the Mac back at home. Hey presto you've got a lovely painterly picture!
Well, I enjoyed making this anyhow ;^)

hutton roof crags
I like a good panoramic shot and my iPhone 5 comes in handy a lot of the times. However, I find most panos quite hard on the eyes so I hope I've done this one pretty well? I think so :]

melon muncher
My simplest flickr upload in a while : I basically cropped it and added a little contrast. Then smoothed out the noise using Topaz DeNoise (high iso).
Taken in Williamson Park's Butterfly House which is in Lancaster, England.
It's got three names (see flickr) too, the funniest being a Large Tree Nymph Butterfly. Well, I thought it was funny lol

bliss
You see, it is possible to polish a t#rd after all. One rushed, badly taken capture on my iPhone and it was about to go in the trash can.
Wait, I thought... lets try a little photoshop magic and see what happens.... Not bad in the end.
On flickr - view large and press the L key. I actually think it's pretty darn cool now.

My latest flickr upload today - taken in the little English village of Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales last week.
Very cold and very wintery! Partly processed using topaz clean - view it large!

asparagus farm
Google Earth is telling me this little place is an asparagus farm. I liked the thick tracks leading in…
This is an AEB capture and processed as HDR on my Mac using Photomatix Pro.

hello there
This little fella kept following me the other day, probably hoping that I had some food. Sadly I hadn't…. But at least he posed long enough to get this close up shot!
half ruins
The extreme winter conditions at Bolton Abbey (or Bolton Priory!) in the English Yorkshire Dales national park.
Today was VERY cold but we love this place and there are also some lovely walks here too.
I thought black and white would suit this snowy scene and maybe emphasise the bitterness of winter too?

zzap!
Direct into the sunlight .. it wasn't a clear day, the sun was behind thin clouds all day. But I thought it'd make a nice pic. Especially in b/w!

sport
Cool, calming and a peacefully foggy start to the day. Plus there's some exciting fishing to watch, if you feel the need.....!!
I walked on after taking the shot and enjoyed the morning in the countryside. The fog cleared shortly after this pic was taken!
Cropped, and processed in Topaz Clean on my Mac. A few more touches done in Aperture.
I love foggy days!

Okay, here is a shot of Croxteth Hall in Liverpool, England. Not exactly the prettiest place we've visited but nice for a change Thanks for viewing.

gnarly
Take the perfect place = English landscape. Add in the perfect weather = winter and fog.
Now, mix the two up and hey presto you've got fantastic conditions for taking some cool snaps :-)
I thought this would look best as a b/w image!
Thanks for viewing.
shelter
Here's a nice summer scene taken in Cheshire, England back when it was dry and warm! Remember those days whilst we enjoy a soggy and wet Christmas!! :/
This image was textured in photoshop after applying a little orton in Perfect Effects 4...
Thanks for viewing and I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

one from our garden
It's far too cold and wet today. Miserable! And it's supposed to be winter - where is the snow??
Okay, lets bring back happy summer memories from when we once had blue skies and no rain....

Sometimes it doesn't matter how long you wait - nothing interesting will happen. Just press the shutter or move on!!! lol

watching me
My latest flickr upload. A pic that I shot in summer but never got around to uploading... It was difficult to meter this as the pot it was on was so bright. Still, turned out quite nice considering I've no macro lens!

expose this!
Things you do when you're out walking..... like point your iPhone directly at the sun! :^)
Simple processing done in Apple Aperture and then I applied it into Topaz Clean (view large to see the fx)
Just 4fun . . . . .

one
Quite a simple shot but composed to include a little of the castle as a bokeh blur in the background!
Actually, this was quite a tough shot as the flower was low and my back was aching anyhow. Impressed I even got down this low!
Thanks for viewing!

All Saints Church
I've a daft obsession with making photographs look old. As if they've been taken with an ancient film camera or as if it was something that was simply found in the attic after generations passed...
Hope you like this shot of All Saints Church in Runcorn, Cheshire in England.
All processing done in Photoshop on my Mac.

smooth sailing
An image I shot in the Findhorn area of northern Britain one sunny day. Shame I'd forgotten my polariser this day.... (typical!!!)

bugs
Taken during the summer when it was nice and warm ... here's one pic I never got around to uploading back then. Basically, a load of bugs!
A shot I've done many times before whilst wishing that I had a macro lens! So I wanted a different look this time....
This was processed in Photoshop on my Mac and then tarted up using the funky Topaz Clean. Pretty cool end result? I think so..

No idea what these little caterpillar - like creatures are called! Can anyone help ID ?
Processed in Apple Aperture and then textured in photoshop on my Mac.

solar
I think I'm getting addicted to the orton effect lol
Here is another pic and this time I manually created the effect in photoshop on my Mac. Very simple really..
I then applied a texture for a better finish. Like the feeling here.
Comments welcome.

formby beach
Another panoramic upload taken with the iPhone 5 - but this time I've cropped it down a bit and also applied a little orton effect of my own to ...well.. make it a little different.
I like that effect! Hope you do also? All made on the Mac - comments always welcome.

pano
We went out today to Formby beach in northern England. Had to have a play with the panoramic option on my iPhone 5 …. neat results for a first attempt? I think so ;^) Can't wait to see if there are any better apps now! (press L key)
That's our daughter in the pic.
(shocked I got her standing still, for once!) :)
Big thanks for viewing.

tower
The tower of Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire, England. I wish the wind would have been blowing a little to make the flag more visible but it was such a gorgeous day - can't complain :)
I've a few pics that i'll upload but I'd love to go back again soon as our time here was a little rushed this day…..
Have a great weekend all.

I think the building to the left was an old storage barn but it was against an awesome wall. Looked liked part of a castle! I thought it'd look nice processed to look like olde b/w...

corners
Here's one picture I shot in the village of Wycoller in Lancashire, England.
It's a lovely, quaint English village in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend the visit if you fancy a slower pace and some good walks.
Made the shot appear more vintage using Apple Aperture with a little photoshop help. All made on my Mac.

perfect day
Very cold and windy day in northern Britain... so I decided to make this cold image look rather dreamy. Works well, I think.
